Skinny Nutritional Corp. (Stock Symbol SKNY) develops, markets and distributes natural, fitness and weight-management beverages to consumers seeking a healthy way to hydrate and lose and or maintain weight. Under the Skinny brand, the Company offers consumers a line of lightly-flavored bottled waters that contain the dietary supplements SuperCitrimax® and ChromeMate® which have been clinically proven to aid in weight-loss and increase metabolism.
Capitalizing on health and fitness trends, Skinny offers consumers a safe, low calorie, low carbohydrate alternative as buyers continue to turn away from soft-drinks and other sugar laden beverages linked to obesity. Products in the pipeline include Skinny coffees, teas, energy drinks, shakes and smoothies, all anticipated to be introduced to the market throughout 2008.
The Company’s management team has implemented an aggressive sales and marketing strategy designed to build brand awareness and secure high-profile shelf space. In conjunction with the SKNY launch, management successfully negotiated an agreement with Target stores, which did an initial rollout of SKNY products in 182 Target stores in June 2007. Consumer response was strong, and today the products are being sold through 947 Target Stores across the country.
SKNY is also seeking to leverage the distribution power of beer distributors looking to move into the non-alcohol beverage sector. The Company has entered into an agreement with its first Anheuser-Busch distributor and is in late stage negotiations with several others.
